Gas Works Park
Gas Works Park is a wonderfully sprawling public park, with a lot of beautiful views and some really interesting things to see and do. If you like fun outdoor activities and visit or live in Seattle, this is definitely a place you will enjoy spending time exploring.Gas Works Park was built on and around the remnants of the last coal gasification plant in the United States, which the City of Seattle decided to buy and turn into a park in 1962.This park is in the southern part of Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood, and rests at the top of Lake Union. Along the water, a beautiful view of all kinds of boats can be seen against the skyline of Seattle.
People gather all over this park all year round, and find it accommodating to all kinds of fun outdoor activities. From a hill near the parking area you'll see visitors flying kites, having a picnic, watching a dog run after a Frisbee, and the interesting landscape of a park built on what was once the Seattle Gas Light Company.
